Effective & Approachable
Mental Health Care
CBT Durham is a psychology practice dedicated to providing effective mental health care, delivered in an approachable manner.
I offer a wide variety of contemporary, empirically-supported treatments (this means that the treatments have been researched and shown to be effective). I primarily provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapies (CBTs), including comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I provide services in a straightforward and nonjudgmental manner. Mental health is a universal concept, and we all have to actively work to improve or maintain our mental health. You and I will work as a team, and I will provide information and practical tools in an approachable way.
Statement of Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
As a psychologist, I value and respect individual differences. I appreciate the various identities (and their intersection) that make us unique individuals, such as those related to race, culture, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion, spirituality, family composition, and many other dimensions.
I understand that every one of us lives and functions within a broader social environment and that our environment and interactions with others can be helpful or harmful to our well-being. I realize that some identities can be devalued by our social environment, as is the case with racism, sexism, genderism, ageism, heterosexism, ableism, etc. These experiences can impact how we feel about ourselves and others.
I want you to know that, as a psychologist, I invite conversations about these issues because I understand that they are important and can impact well-being. My values and ethics guide me to support equality and human dignity and challenge prejudice and discrimination. My colleagues, community partners, and I are dedicated to making CBT Durham a safe, respectful, and compassionate place for everyone.
